This Just In . . .

Okay - I'm a huge movie buff. And not those "classic" movies everyone's always so crazy about. Nope. Not me. I like oddball stuff. Musicals. Comedies. Horror.

I just found out they're remaking The Omen. Woo hoo!!!! this one is going to be called The Omen 666, and according to IMDB, Liev Schreiber is going to be Robert Thorn. Not a bad choice. David Thewlis will be Jennings - definately a fantastic choice. Love him. And Mia Farrow as Mrs. Blaylock. She definately has the creepy look down pat. The only person who would probably throw a wrench in the works for me would be Julia Stiles as Katherine Thorn. The girl cannot act, and has one emotion - petulant.

The best part about the whole thing. Guess when the release date is. Go ahead - guess.

June 6, 2006.

Yup - 06-06-06. I am SO going to see this movie.

No News is Good News

Nothing blogworthy is really happening. Just letting you know I haven't fallen off the face of the planet.

Until I have something worth actually writing about, I'll leave you with this picture.

I have a new toy!

No! Not THAT kind of toy. Sickos.

Mystic introduced me to a cool website. It's myheritage.com. They have a face recognition software where you upload a picture of whoever, and they tell you which celebrities you look like. Now, it can be very complimentary or very disheartening. So far, the highest percentage celebrity lookalike for me is Michael Douglas.

I'm NOT kidding.

Aparently I look 73% like Mr. Douglas.
69% like Christian Slater.
68% Gillian Anderson (woo hoo! She's HOT!).
68% like Nick Cave (I had to look him up - he's possibly the ugliest singer I've ever seen).
67% like River Phoenix (I can live with that - he was rather pretty for a guy).
67% like Vivian Leigh (yeah - I can SO do the haughty, spoiled bitch - plus GORGEOUS)
67% Sean Penn (DUDE! - got a photographer I can punch? Watch out Mystic!)
66% Sharon Stone (No beaver shots. Sorry.)
66% Johnny Depp (oooh - another pretty guy)
65% Ingrid Bergman (wow! total classy hottie - In my wildest dreams)

So, I look like more guys than girls. Guess that explains why I can't cook worth a damn.

Now, it changes with every picture you upload. Mystic did one of me, and I came up as Greta Garbo. I can totally see that. Of all of them, I'd have to say she's the one I probably look like the most face structure wise.

I also did my kids. Aparently they both look like Ayumi Hamasaki (63% for Kidlet and 61% for Munchkin). The funny thing is - we may have lots of different nationalities in us, but I would bet money none of them is Japanese. Another celebrity they both look like . . . Daniel Radcliffe. Yup - that's right. Both of my beautiful daughters look like Harry Potter. But the best thing that came up out of all of this. Aparently Munchkin looks most like Emma Watson at a whopping 63%. Woo hoo! So, if Harry and Hermione got together and had kids, the result would look alot like my baby. Only probably not as Mexican-Italiany.

Housekeeping and a Tag

First - a little housekeeping:

If you look over at my blogroll, I have added a few new names. Bozette, Lady Hearteater, and Nonny are all new friends, and I would like to say HI!!!!

And since I mentioned Nonny - WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU???? I tried her link this morning, but it comes up with the dreaded No Such Person type URL thingy. So - Nonny, if you're reading, come back!

Also - I have sort of located my friend of whom I spoke in my last post. Classmates is frickin fantastic for stuff like that. So . . . if all goes well, I will hopefully be able to get in touch with her *crosses fingers*. Thanks to all for your help.

Now - my bad habits. Bozette tagged me for this.

1. I don't usually link in my posts. I know how, but I'm entirely too lazy to go into the html code to do it. I figure if you're reading my blog, you've most likely seen the person, and you can go to their blog all on your own.

2. I'm a very odd driver. Normally, I drive like a maniac - and I'm working on that. I drive very fast in most cases. Like Bozette, if you're in the fast lane and doing the speed limit or under, I will be very upset with you. However, as soon as it gets dark, I drive very cautiously. I have problems seeing at night, and if I can't see, I'm the turtle woman.

3. My car is a mess. I spend about 3 hours a day in my car, and it shows. I also usually have the kids with me, and the back of my car becomes one huge waste basket. Lowk HATES my car. He spends the same amount of time driving, but his trick is immaculate. I'm not that anal. I will clean my car eventually. Until then - piss off.

4. I spend entirely too much time on the internet. Even at work. I'm working on it, but it's addicting.

5. I go barefoot almost all the time. I hate shoes. I even kick them off at work. I've been written up for going shoeless, and I still do it. I know one of the reasons for it is because I hate being hot, and my feet are about the warmest part of my body. So, I do everything possible to cool down. But, I also just detest having my feet all bound up. I would have probably made a good hobbit.

So, there they are. And I don't tag. I could have listed that as one of my bad habit, but I ran out of space. If you want to do it, be my guest.

I hate this . . .

I had a dream about an old friend of mine from Jr. High the other night. In the dream, I knew her whole name. When I woke up, I remembered the dream, and thought - wow, I'm going to have to try to look her up. I got to work, and got online to do said task, and I couldn't remember her last name. I remember her first name. But not her last.

No problem. I was going to go home last night and look her up in my old yearbook, and then look her up online today. Well, things got a little busy, and I never got a chance to look her up. But, as I was drifting off to sleep last night, I remembered her name. Great! I won't forget this time.

Guess what? I can't remember her last name again. Her first name is Amber. I know her last name has one of those weird Mexican N's in it with the little ~ over the top. I remember this because we had one of our two arguments over that stupid N.

Why is it I can remember the damn name when I'm asleep, but can't for the life of me remember it when I'm awake and can actually look her up???!!!!

Conversation in the car while driving with Hubby

Lowk: If I were driving behind you, I'd be throwing things at you, honking my horn, and yelling, "I hope you fuck better than you drive!"

Me: *glaring at him* ...

Lowk: Don't worry, honey. You do.

Resolutions and a Movie Review

Well, as is customary for the start of a new year, I have made a couple of resolutions.

1) Lose weight - along with about 3/4 of the rest of the planet. I figure I need to lose about 40 lbs, but I'll be ecstatic if I get rid of half that.

2) Eat better - doesn't really work well in my house, but I can always dream, right?

3) Drive slower - yup, you heard right. I have an awful tendency to try to fly without wings, and one of these days, that's gonna bite me in the butt. So, I'm trying to take it a little easier.

4) Go on a real, honest to goodness vacation with my family. That's the biggie. Usually, we vacation at home, because we usually spend "excess" money on other things. Like food.

That's about it. Nothing too out there.

Now - onto other things.

I just need to get this out. Mike Newell is a GOD. We went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire over the holiday weekend, and - in my opinion - it was one of the best adaptations of the HP series. Many people will argue with me and state that Alphoso Cuaron did better with Prisoner of Azkaban, but I just felt he left entirely too much pertinent information out of POA.

Don't get me wrong - there was a hell of a lot left out of GoF, but the stuff that was left out was really nothing very important. So, we don't know that Rita Skeeter's an animagus. Did we need to? Nope. And the viewing audience knows nothing about Blast Ended Screwts. Thank God for that. And we weren't subjected to Hermione's House Elf campaign. Woot! And as interesting as it was, we really didn't need to know about the Crouch family's affinity for the Imperius curse, nor Jr.'s whole backstory.

The one thing that really should have been expounded upon was why Ron reacted the way he did. Other than that, is was a wonderful adaptation of the book. I really wish Newell would hang in there and do Order of the Phoenix. However, a quick trip over to IMDB reveals that some unheard of guy is helming the 5th installment. Damn.
