Work Nazis
Due to the fact that I work for a large government agency, I understand that there would be a number of "blocked" sites, due to the proliferation of pornography and whatnot. However, this place has gone too far.
Following is just a small list of sites my work has blocked:
MySpace
Classmates
You Tube
MSN TV Trivia
Any site that contains the word "game"
Shoot, I can't even see my avatar anymore. My work probably blocked that site, as well.
Jeez - it's like they expect me to work, or something.

They haven't blocked my site yet, right? That's the most important thing. ;)
better they block you then like mine, where it's unblocked and they wait like sharks for you to hit on a forbidden site so they can fire your lazy butt! I have no willpower..it sucks!
This is fucked up.
Then again...some people take advantage and fuck off all day and rely on other people to pick up their slack.
WAIT. I did NOT just say that out loud, right?
I know it's better to block it up front. But seriously - You Tube?
I can't even log onto Ebay. Can you believe that?
SUCKS.
i think that there are ways to by-pass blocks on websites, if you really do need to get to these web pages, for, um... work.
Google it.
WHAT THE F@$%! You would think that they would understand our delicate sensibilities...like we care about work...I thought I wanted a career, it seems all I really wanted was a paycheck...Will miss you while I'm gone.
Bastards.
If they block blogger or wordpress next I'd be out of there!! You can't work like that!!
I hate how many sites are blocked by work firewalls. Sometimes they shoot themselves in the foot.
Good example: Today at work I had a problem with my file formats, and had to get on the web to try and find a solution. I found a site that looked like it could help me, and it was BLOCKED by the firewall.
Effing blocked. So my work laptop is still screwed up.
I was a bureaucrat for a long time, but that was before PCs were even invented. Still, I suspect that the powers of the bureaucratic chain blocked those sites not to protect you from the evils of porn, but to keep your nose to the grindstone—i.e., keep working.
That should be like the #1 interview question of employers: "So does your corporate firewall block sites?"
That's not just government agencies my firm does it too, I think that may be a standard list LOL
